Take Me To Rio is a project of the Berman Brothers that takes us to Brazil to replay covers of great hits like Hey Ya! by Outkast, Love is the Drug by Roxy Music, The Message by Grandmaster Flash, Heart of Glass by Blondie, or Sex Bomb, I Like to Move It and many others, and make them meet the rhythms of bossa nova and Brazilian samba for an irresistible result. "We started working on the album long before," Berman said. The brothers fly to Rio with a suitcase full of ideas and songs, looking for even more inspiration as soon as they arrive. "We sat in bars, in cafes, we went to clubs and we talked for a long time with musicians. It's our way of exploring music. Some choices are rather surprising, like the hip-hop classic "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash, or "Dance With Somebody", with its unstoppable guitar riff by Swedish rockers Mando Diao. "The guys went crazy when they heard the Rio version of their song," Berman said, recounting the moment Mando Diao discovered the song.
