We can only salute the bold choice made by Don Cheadle for his project Miles Ahead which stages some events in the life of the great trumpeter. The director appealed to fans and invested part of his personal funds. For what result? Its broadcast on OCS city will allow you to discover it.
Like musical geniuses such as Ray Charles, James Brown or Nina Simone, Miles Davis has distinguished himself by his many escapades. The context of Miles Ahead is set at a very dark period in the musician's life, the 70s. The artist was at the time isolated from the world of music. The plot of the film was imagined by Don Cheadle. Miles Davis played by the actor/director, has one of his recordings stolen. He then makes every effort to recover it accompanied by a journalist from Rolling Stone (a character created for the film that is in a way a patchwork of journalists who gravitated around the musician) played by Ewan McGregor.
The work done by the American actor on this completely independent film was rewarded at the 2016 edition of the Palms Springs festival. Miles Ahead was also honored at the Deauville festival in the "Premieres" category.
We can only urge you, fans of jazz or well-orchestrated American dramas, to discover Miles Ahead which will be broadcast on November 1 on OCS City.
