Tuesday, September 27, 2016 was released the trailer of The Crown, the most expensive series that Netflix has produced so far. The series will be released on November 4, 2016 and will honor the youth of Queen Elizabeth II.

This historical drama is inspired by the life of the very famous Elizabeth II, current Queen of England, but also by the play The Audience by Peter Morgan, the screenwriter of the series. Indeed, what better way to salute 65 years of reign than to make a series?

Netflix production has invested heavily in The Crown, with nearly $156 million (!!!) would have been spent only on the first season, in order to honor English royalty. In comparison, the realization of a season of the series Game of Thrones costs an average of $ 60 million and we see the result. Imagine with the budget of The Crown the quality of the sets, costumes that we are promised and that already make us dream in the trailer.

The trailer introduces very finely the themes that will be addressed in the series: the coming to power, politics, marriage seem to be the main points. We discover a Queen Elizabeth who arrives on the throne in a troubled period as a young woman, therefore discredited by most male political figures of the time. She is also a young bride, with a husband destabilized by this seizure of power. A passage from the trailer tells us without going through four paths the direction that the series will take:

"The crown has to win. Must always win"

The Queen is played by actress Claire Foy (Wolf Hall ; The Lady in the Van) who seems perfect in the skin of this emblematic figure. Other excellent actors are part of the cast such as the very British Matt Smith (Doctor Who) in the role of Prince Phillip or John Lithgow (Dexter) to play the minister Winston Churchill. It was announced that the series would consist of 6 seasons of 10 episodes. 60 episodes to cover 60 years of reign? Fingers crossed!

The Crown will be released on November 4. To wait, we show you the trailer that already gives us chills!
