Synopsis: On a dark night, a deserter named Jean arrives in Le Havre hoping to leave the France. There he meets Nelly, a beautiful and mysterious young woman whose gaze upsets him. The latter lives in terror of her guardian, the miserable Zabel, himself racketed by a gang of thugs. Out of love, Jean meddles in Nelly's affairs and sets foot in a perilous spiral…

Quai des brumes is a great French classic by Marcel Carné, worn by an attractive and talented young Gabin , set in a strong historical context.Sometimes obsolete and boring, the feature film is a film to see just for its last five very romantic minutes and one of the most cult lines in the history of French cinema. A sort of French Casablanca Quai des Brumes is a monument of French cinema.

20h55 on W9

A cult comedy thanks to a very effective tandem, with perfect alchemy. The performers are convincing, Julia Roberts is terribly attractive, and this buddy movie touches by its omnipresent kindness and respect. A cult film easy to see deeply sympathetic.

War of the Worlds:

The War-of-the-Worlds

Directed by Steven SPIELBERG

With Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning

Science fiction / USA / 2005 / 1h52

8:55pm on France 4

A few minutes after his ex-wife and her husband gave him custody of the children, a powerful storm broke out. Ray then attends a show that will change his life forever…

Steven Spielberg signs an oppressive and disaster science fiction film. Via aliens with a really well thought-out design, Spielberg offers some dantesque action scenes, impressive machines, a powerful introduction and some masterful horror passages. Tom Cruise does the rest in front of the camera for this pleasant and perfectly accomplished science fiction film.

The Man of the High Plains:

HIGH-PLAINS--1-

Directed by Clint EASTWOOD

With Clint Eastwood

Western / USA / 1973 / 1h45

20h45 on ParisPremière

Synopsis: A stranger, dressed all in black, arrives in a small border town in the American Southwest. Three young cowboys provoke him. He shoots all three of them. The inhabitants then ask him to save them from the attack of three bandits who have vowed the destruction of the community. He accepts but on conditions that will upset the conformism of the village…

Clint Eastwood learns from his elders Sergio Leone and Don Siegel to offer his own western. Sometimes on the edge of the fantastic Eastwood offers a strong photograph to talk about this story of protection close to that of The Seven Mercenaries. However, Clint Eastwood plays an ambiguous and violent character. An amazing western premise of Clint Eastwood's directing talent.

Deadpool:

deadpool-gallery-03-gallery-image

Directed by Tim MILLER

With Ryan Reynolds

Action / USA / 2016 / 1h48

Synopsis: Deadpool, is the most atypical anti-hero of the Marvel universe. Originally, his name is Wade Wilson: a former Special Forces soldier turned mercenary. After undergoing an extraordinary experiment that will accelerate his healing powers, he will become Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a high-energy black humor, Deadpool will hunt down the man who almost destroyed his life.

Finally an adaptation of Deadpool ! The fans were waiting for him and Ryan Reynolds made that dream come true. The feature film remains faithful to the character, featuring a subversive and irreverent anti-hero, well barred, funny and completely lit. The action scenes remain effective and violent and offbeat enough to honor the character, and humor is omnipresent, even the fourth wall is broken as in the comics. No, what suffers in Tim Miller's film is not Deadpool, but Wade Wilson. The boring flashbacks to break the rhythm feature a bland and stereotypical Wade Wilson for scenes telling his very classic, too classic origins. Similarly the finale is a formatted conclusion of the all-comers Hollywood, too bad. We look forward to the sequel for more Deadpool.

Flight:

flight-1-1

Directed by Robert ZEMECKIS

With Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Don Cheadle, Kelly Reilly

Drama / USA / 2013 / 2h18

20:55 on TMC

Synopsis: Whip Whitaker, an experienced airline pilot, miraculously manages to land his plane in disaster after an accident in the sky… The following investigation raises many questions… What really happened on Flight 227? Hailed as a hero after the crash, Whip will suddenly see his entire life exposed in full light.

Zemeckis fully impresses his viewer during an excessively gripping first scene, a plane crash, or rather an exceptional non-crash.After a violent accident, striking realism and aesthetic and technical qualities, which really takes to the guts, Flight becomes a classic but effective story of redemption. Denzel Washington is perfect, interpreting his role with strength and conviction and the supporting roles remain interesting. More rhythmic, more impressive, more captivating than the recent Sully, Zemeckis' film is certainly worth seeing.

Labyrinthe_de_pan_2

Via a fantastic spring embellished with visual nuggets, monsters of all kinds well thought out, sumptuous sets and whimsical appearances, Guillermo Del Toro deals with a dramatic historical subject. Through the prism of a little girl who wants to believe in the impossible, Del Toro signs a film with a powerful social vector, stages the fantasies of a little girl who does not want to lose hope. We remember the many monsters of the filmmaker, who have become cult over the years, and this magnificent and touching conclusion. Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Set Design and Best Makeup and Goyas for Best Original Screenplay and Best Female Newcomer for Ivana Baquero.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice:

batman_superman_logo

Directed by Zack SNYDER

With Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne, Gal Gadot, Holly Hunter, Kevin Costner, Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Fantastic / USA / 2016 / 2h33

21:00 on Canal +

Synopsis: Fearing that Superman will abuse his omnipotence, the Dark Knight decides to confront him: does the world need a superhero with unlimited powers or a vigilante with formidable strength but human origin? Meanwhile, a terrible threat looms on the horizon…

A confrontation that will not remain iconic but that avoids the worst. Zack Snyder , in addition to offering impressive images, draws up a whole tasty mythology. However, Batman V Superman remains a classic blockbuster too descended by critics. Yet we find the visual qualities of the filmmaker, a respect for the characters, a powerful and imposing interpretation of Bruce Wayne by Ben Affleck , impressive action scenes and a rendering of gigantism very well represented by a muscular opening scene. Batman V Superman is not a masterpiece but an undeniably good entertainment that deserved much better.
