Shia LaBeouf: an anti-Trump live performance for four years

The American actor has very badly digested the election of Donald Trump at the head of the United States. Really very bad.

Moving further and further away from the red carpet and the supremacy of Hollywood stars, Shia LaBeouf has expressed himself in recent years through numerous conceptual and committed performances (24 hours live in an elevator, 3 days live in front of his own films or his game with geographical coordinates on Twitter). This time, with the support of Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner, he embarked on a crazy project: to launch a protest livestream against Donald Trump that will last four years, under the name HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US.

On the website intended for this purpose, the initiative of the project was explained: "From 9am on January 20, 2017, the day of the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, the public is invited to say the words 'HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US' IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA INSTALLED ON THE EXTERIOR WALL OF THE Museum of the Moving Image in New York, and to repeat this phrase as many times as he wants, as long as he wants. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the device is broadcast live on the dedicated website and will be continuously for four years, the duration of the presidential mandate. Thus, the mantra 'HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US' TAKES THE FORM OF A SHOW OF RESISTANCE OR INSISTENCE, OPPOSITION OR OPTIMISM, GUIDED BY THE SPIRIT OF EACH PARTICIPANT AND BY THE COMMUNITY."

Actor Jaden Smith (The Get Down) opened the performance Friday morning. Shia LaBeouf then showed up on the night of Friday to Saturday, and was still reciting his mantra (with small eyes) on Sunday morning. A maximum of people are invited to participate in this performance: the actor wants the population to manifest itself continuously for four years, leaving at least the livestream to run in a vacuum.

Will Shia LaBeouf's project last until the end or will it run out after a while? The actor-artist-performer (we do not know what to call him) has in any case strong ideas and he seems ready to defend them to the end!
