During an interview with Entertainment Tonight magazine, Jim Parsons spoke about the spin-off project dedicated to Sheldon Cooper of The Big Bang Theory being developed by CBS.

Already mentioned in November, this spin-off project simply titled Sheldon is gradually taking shape. This series will focus on the childhood of the famous Texas scientist whose intelligence was already an obstacle to creating social and family ties.

If as a fan we can apprehend this spin-off, Jim Parsons supports 100% this project. He says: "The writers have done a great job from the beginning, both in terms of story and characters. It would have been a waste if we hadn't decided to explore the origins of this story. Over the past decade, they've delivered a lot of things about the character, which I've been able to draw inspiration from. I am very excited about this project. I think it will be very different from Big Bang Theory, but in a good way."

We wish good luck to the child who will have to reprise the role of Sheldon Cooper after the strong impression that Jim Parsons has left. The actor advises him to "look at me as little as possible and take the bull by the horns to deliver your own version". This seems like good advice, an interpretation too inspired by his elder would risk giving a pale copy of the young Sheldon.

One question remains, does this spin-off mark the end of the series after 10 years of good and loyal service and while the actors are still negotiating to extend their contracts.
