On the bill on February 22 with Split, M. Night Shyamalan spoke at the microphone of Uproxx on Unbreakable 2, the sequel to his masterpiece released 17 years ago.

Unbreakable

Through the promotion of Split , which features an individual locked in 23 different personalities, M. Night Shyamalan said:

"I want to make another Unbreakable, and I intend to make sure that this is my next achievement. I'm still close to Bruce (Willis) and in touch with Sam (Jackson), so hopefully the project will become a reality soon."

The filmmaker then reports to the microphone of FilmActu :

" I love these characters and I love this universe… The strength of this film is that it is rooted in reality. It's not a superhero movie like any other. This is clearly pure drama. It's real. His premise is that comic-book superheroes can be normal people. If we make a sequel, the tone of the film should be very realistic. That would be cool."

Since Unbreakable released in 2000, which featured superheroes like no other, M. Night Shyamalan has always expressed the desire to make a sequel. A project that seems to be coming to fruition.

But M. Night Shyamalan goes even further by claiming that Split is an indirect sequel to Unbreakable. His new feature film is indeed part of the same universe as the film worn by Bruce Willis. Unbreakable 2 would therefore be the continuation of the first film but also a sequel to Split, and thus the conclusion of a superheroic trilogy. All of this sounds interesting and promising.
