After the return of Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), the finale of the second season of Supergirl is about to welcome a cult villain from the DC Comics universe.
Indeed, we have just learned from the site SpoilerTV that General Zod will be there! Created in 1961 by Robert Bernstein and George Papp in Adventure Comics #283, the character is a Kryptonian who was sentenced to imprisonment in the Phantom Zone for rebelling against the authorities. He is freed and comes to Earth to conquer her but is stopped by Superman. He has the same powers as Superman.
It is the actor Mark Gibbon who will slip into the role. The actor has appeared in Once Upon a Time and The 100 but also in Smallville.
This will not be the first appearance of the character of General Zod on television or in cinema since in 1978, it was the actor Terrence Stamp who played him in the film Superman. Michael Shannon succeeded him in 2013 in Man of Steel. On television, in the series Smallville, it is Callum Blue who lent him his features in 2009-2010.
We have no other details about this arrival, it is currently impossible to know if the character will be present in several episodes or even in the third season next year.
In the meantime, Supergirl begins its end of season tonight before the finale which will be broadcast on May 22 on the CW.
