Albion Online, the sandbox mmorpg from Sandbox Interactive studio, is planning the Black Market, new content for the next update! What is it used for? We tell you everything!
First of all, it is fashionable to specify that the Hector update will land soon. It is scheduled for June 7, 2017. On the menu, an increased enrichment of the content including a redesign of the Hellgates, the improvement of the Outlands, a removal of some ports and banks. The Black Market is undoubtedly the flagship addition of this update.
"The black market is the answer to a question we have been asking ourselves for a long time. How do you insert cool gear into the game when all the elements are supposed to be created by the players? And our response was: you have the players crafting the content themselves to insert and that's exactly what the Black Market will be able to do." explains Robin Henkys, Game Director of Albion Online.
Here is Robin Henkys ' explanatory video on the Black Market:

What is the Black Market?
Concretely, it is a new NPC who has set up his shop in Caerleon, the central city of the Royal Continent. He will acquire the players' items and give them back to the many monsters, factions and chests in the game. These items will once again be accessible to players in the loot they collect from the world via PVE.
A merchant like any other?
The Black Market does not function like a traditional merchant. It is based on a logical and more complex mechanism: interaction with players. The price adapts to supply and demand. The demand is created when a player kills a mob, a buy order is generated.
The purchase amount will depend on:
- From the player himself, but in this case, he will sell at his price if the market allows it, otherwise he will have to adapt.
- Mobs killed by players who will leave certain items as loot. The system will look for demand in the black market, if the item is in stock, it will drop it down and remove it, but if it is not in stock, it will generate a buy order and increase the price of the item.
Why is the Black Market useful in Albion Online?
It strengthens the weight of players on the economy of the game. It also allows developers to make objects disappear to balance the game. And finally, the Black Market introduces the end of the In-Game Essences that provided the link between PVE and craft. Essences will not be completely removed from the game. They are still needed to make Runes.
