JustFocus caught up with Marvel director Kevin Feige for the release of the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. Here is, exclusively, the information given by the pioneer of superheroes.

"Marvel has been around for 10 years, this is the16th movie, it was time for Spider-Man to come home."

"It's interesting to see Spider-Man in his initial context. They purposely placed him in Civil War. It was fun and interesting that Tony Stark came to New York and was his mentor. It's a way to show that Spider-Man has always been there but we haven't seen him yet. All he's ever wanted is to be part of a bunch of superheroes like him."

JustFocus: After the association with Sony, is it possible that other associations will be born in the future? Maybe with the X-Men, for example?

Kevin Feige: Nothing is planned at the moment but nothing is impossible.

JF: Is a combination possible between DC and Marvel to create the greatest superhero movie of all time?

K.F. : We've already made the greatest film of all time. Who knows what happens next?

JF: Is it possible to imagine Spider-Man without Marvel from now on? Let him go again after he gets home?

K.F. : We have already signed on for Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and he will be in the next Avengers in 2019. After that, I don't know.

JF: Will we see in the film how Peter Parker got his powers?

K.F. :Not this time! We know that everyone knows the story, everyone knows how he received his powers. In the film, there is a reference to the bite of the spider but we do not talk about it more than that.

JF: What do you like about the character of Spider-Man?

K.F. : I like a lot of things about him. I love how Spider-Man likes to be Spider-Man, unlike other superheroes for whom powers are a weight or a curse. That's why he's different and funny too.

JF: Why did you choose Tom Holland to play Spider-Man? How did you choose it?

K.F. : We started looking for the new Spider-Man during the filming of Avengers : Civil War. We met about a hundred young people, and then the five finalists were taken to the set of Civil War to try out with Robert Downey Jr.: that's when we realized that Tom Holland was the right one. He was nervous enough next to him but not intimidated enough to lose his means. They both improvised easily, we felt that there was already a good dynamic.

JF: Can Sony's Spider-Man universe fit into yours?

K.F. : You know what I'm going to say, no plans yet.

JF: The Marvel universe is expanding, especially through television series: would it be possible one day to see for example Daredevil, the Punisher or Jessica Jones take part in Marvel films?

K.F. : We have no plans at the moment, these are characters who are doing well at Netflix but nothing more has been considered for now.

JF: Is it possible that Marvel and the Avengers are getting into something like Deadpool?

K.F. : We are working on 8 films at the moment. We have no other plans, maybe later.

JF: Did you renew your contract with Marvel that ended in 2017?

K.F. : No one ever asks me that! At the moment, all I have in mind is the Avengers until 2019, I'm not thinking about the contract.
