Niantic, Inc. and The Pokémon Company International have just announced, to celebrate the first anniversary of Pokémon GO, the upcoming appearance of the long-awaited Legendary Pokémon. The announcement is accompanied by a video showing how trainers will have to go about catching these powerful (and rare!) Pokémon.
To have any hope of seeing the Legendary Pokémon arrive, you will have to team up with millions of Trainers around the world on July 22, during Pokémon Go Fest (Chicago) to fight the first Legendary Pokémon. If defeated, it will start appearing in Raids around the world, after Pokémon GO Fest. In addition, by fighting during the Windows Challenge of this Pokémon GO Fest, you will have the opportunity to unlock in-game bonuses, so you will have more chances to meet a Legendary Pokémon.
Once the Legendary Pokémon are in the wild, you will only have to form a team with other trainers to lead, not a "classic" Raid, but a Legendary Raid, in order to obtain these precious Pokémon. Fellow trainers, be well watched, more events are coming soon, starting with Safari Zone events across Europe from August until September. Or, in August, in Yokohama, Japan, during the Pikachu Outbreak.
You can check out the official Pokémon GO blog for upcoming Legendary Pokémon, and follow the announcements on Twitter and Facebook.
