The cast of The Lion King is almost complete for theDisney remake andalready big names are circulating. Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, or Beyoncé… Discover which celebrities lend their voices to the mythical characters of this future live-action.

Following the success of The Jungle Book ($ 900 million in revenue last year), Jon Favreau is back for a new live remake of another Disney classic: The Lion King released in 1994. For this project that promises to be gigantic, the studio with big ears has chosen most of its actors in the Marvel house.

Thus, Donald Glover (Spider-Man: Homecoming) will lend his voice to Simba while Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange) will be that of Scar. We will also have the chance to see two new actors present in Captain America: Civil War. Indeed, John Kani will be the voice of Rafiki and Alfre Woodard will be that of Sarabi, Simba's mother.

Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen will be Timon and Pumbaa respectively and host John Oliver will be Zazu. James Earl Jones (the voice of Darth Vader himself!) will be the only actor to return, in the role of Mufasa, since he already held this role in the 1994 classic. But this remains to be confirmed, as well as the name of Beyoncé who turns to double the lioness Nala. She could also sign the soundtrack of this live remake.

The Lion King live-action will be released in theaters on July 17, 2019. We can't wait to see this successful live remake!
