Synopsis

Goblins (Dokkaebi – Goblin of Korean folklore) are beings we have always feared. But not this time. Our Goblin came to Seoul in our time and rather has the appearance of a man with magnetic charm. But, which is actually several hundred years old and retains its eternally youthful appearance. During the Goryeo era, Kim Shin was an invincible general but jealous of a manipulated young king. Betrayed, he will be condemned to die by his sword. He will then come back to life in the form of an immortal being. This immortal being, named Goblin, is looking for the Goblin's bride, the only person who will be able to remove the sword and free it. Kim Shin lives temporarily with the grim reaper who is looking for a missing soul, a being who should have died long ago but was saved. Clever mix of fantasy

Who does not know this drama adored by most fans of drama and especially K-drama?In addition, it has won seven awards (best drama, ost…) in three ceremonies between 2016 and 2017. The same goes for the secondary couple formed by the grim reaper and Sunny who are also linked by a complicated destiny. This small world, far from finding itself in a tragic atmosphere knows how to make us laugh with comic moments although sometimes far-fetched. Those who have seen the drama will surely remember its scenes, especially that of the arrival of the two men in black advancing in the night!

The charm of Sageuk and modernity

The last strong point of this drama revolves around the memories of the Goblin kind of time loop, which allows us to clearly identify the link between the different protagonists. The drama knows how to take advantage of the atmosphere specific to this genre. Therefore, if you have trouble with classic histories, this drama may be a good compromise for you. On the other hand, those who do not appreciate it, nor will necessarily find their account! Nevertheless, we found some lengths in the scenario that could have been avoided. The finale will leave some of you disappointed.
