3,2,1, GB! The Deauville American Film Festival opened this Friday, September 1. The launch ceremony took place in a C.I.D. Jam-packed.

For starters, Jerry Lewis ' face lit up the big screen of the room one last time with a brief but effective sketch. We will have the pleasure of seeing him again at the screening of Le Tombeur de ces Dames later during the festival.

A tribute was paid to actress Laura Dern for her entire career. We were able to rediscover some of his best scenes in an American montage (in the manner of the Oscars). The actress, very touched by her award and this tribute wanted to thank above all her parents. They were also actors, who made him want to initiate a career in cinema. She also cited many directors who have marked her career such as Peter Bogdanovich, Hal Hasby and of course David Lynch.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of the Competition Jury and the Revelation JuryThe 16 personalities stood up at the call of their names and warmly greeted the room.

The evening continued with the screening, in French preview, of Barry Seal: American Traffic. In this film, Tom Cruise plays an arms and drug dealer who finds himself collaborating with the CIA and the Medellin cartel.

The Deauville American Film Festival will take placefrom September 1 to 10 with sixty films scheduled. We expect many tributes as well as independent works that will delight moviegoers.
