Éditions Delcourt offers Mon Opéra-Rock by blogger/author/illustrator Leslie Plée. Our review.

Every week, a new musical is released. We thus find Régine in the role of the Queen of England, Vatican priests who decide to unravel the secret of Madonna's eternal youth; We go behind the scenes of the creation of shows more crazy and absurd than each other: a parody and a tribute to the best (and worst) musicals.

Proposed by Delcourt and Tapas, Mon Opéra-Rock is signed by Leslie Plée, a young blogger who is already the author of several comic books. She takes us behind the scenes of the creation of musicals with a trio. Sometimes absurd and sometimes burlesque, the ideas fuse for the greatest pleasure of the reader. This famous trio must indeed put together a new musical every week based on historical facts, musicians and many others. They then decide to set up a company called The New Serge Lama (which will also trigger a mock trial with the real one!)mon opera rock leslie plee delcourt collection tapas [Criticism] My Rock Opera: in the land of musicals!

And what is Napoleon called?

The result is a succession of scenes, each more crazy than the last: Napoleon becomes the hero of And what is called Napoleon surrounded by squirrels while Gainsbourg, the man with the head of cabbage, finds himself in the middle of vegetables! As you can see, Leslie Plée's writing and humor are at their peak. It is not necessarily necessary to look for any truth in these bubbles but a real work of imagination on the crazy and the absurd.

The construction of each story is proposed in the same way, on 4 pages: first the brainstorming with the exchange of ideas, then the result (whatever it is!) and finally a false press article that is usually responsible for murdering the work. The author likes to titillate our zygomatics and despite some stories below, everything remains pleasant to read.

Also an illustrator, Leslie Plée delights us with simple drawings with effective inking. The choice of colors and characterizations are highly stylized and make reading smooth. You will just have the choice between devouring the work in one go or in small pieces, to make the pleasure last!

In conclusion, the new Serge Lamas are likely to become your best friends during the reading of My Rock Opera. Leslie Plée delivers a simple but effective work that commits us to learn about the blogger. Delcourt offers everything in a nice edition, easy to carry, at an affordable price to please those around you!
