Both author and cartoonist, he delivers us a crazy but captivating story. In a world where humans and zoomorphic creatures evolve together, drugs are only the pretext to discover the strange city of Venosa through the character of Epine.

A city to discover

Alternating between real and imaginary, Venosa is a great success on the part of the author Olivier Milhiet. Accustomed to heroic-fantasy with publications such as Aniss, Caravane or Spoogue, the author plunges us directly into his universe. This first volume raises different situations and especially many questions: Is Thorn really the hero of the story? What dark secrets still hide the city? Will the drug be cleaned with karcher? So many answers we hope to get in the future!

The drawings, also signed by Oliver Milhiet, strike a blow. The realistic and totally barred style gives the story a welcome depth. The colors of Albertine Slow Motion make everything almost perfect. The angles of views and the different perspectives plunge us directly into the heart of the city and no one is surprised to find themselves alongside a talking goat!

Delcourt, who edits the book, certainly holds in his nets the next big hit of the heroic-fantasy comic. Venosa – Volume 1 is, we hope, the beginning of a beautiful and long adventure!

In conclusion, the first volume of Venosa by Oliver Milhiet is a pure marvel to read and discover. The author/cartoonist has created a fantastic universe that lives up to expectations, with enough elements to come back. All that remains is to wait until the publication of volume 2!
