Duo at its creation, Pastobal is today a small team committed to serving very specific ideals. And if they are not very well known on the mainstream scene, they are well known on the activist scene : Pascale, Cristobal, Cédric and the others made people move during the events of Nuit Debout.
Pastobal is also two EPs, the oldest Dans Ma Tête released in 2014, and EP#2 released last year. Two EPs that allow you to get acquainted with the versatile rock sound of the band and its very personal themes, which concern a little everyone. No surprise, therefore, to find them this year with a trilingual and militant album, as if it presented itself as the completion of their musical research.
Politicized and collaborative sound
A voice that declaims and a committed guitar is the cocktail signed Pastobal to address revolutionary and environmental themes . We particularly appreciate the nod to an emblematic character of the environmental struggle, but make no mistake, it is not a call to arms: the group describes its fed up in the most perfect pacifism .
This is where listening gets tougher, the fierce revolutionaries will be disappointed but the most tender will be fooled. Between two hymns to liberation, some more personal pieces evoke loss, love or even eroticism, all carried by the linguistic changes of Xtobal.
If you are not interested in foreign languages, you can always appreciate the group's efforts to involve the public in their cause. We love the impressive notes by their length and the bursts of voices that call for our participation. We already regret not having discovered the songs in concert and we know that they will take on a whole new dimension on this occasion.
