The Flash is back on the CW with the launch of its fourth season. The episode, entitled The Flash Reborn, takes us back to the very heart of the action. Our review.

We had left Barry after his victory over Savitar. He took a vacant place in the Swift Force, a sacrifice that allowed everyone to survive. This first episode begins after a six-month ellipse. Iris became the leader of the team while Wally and Cisco formed a team to fight the metahumans of Central City. Julian has left the city to return to London and Caitlin manages her split personality by playing bartender. Despite the absence of The Flash, everything seems to be going well. That's without counting on the arrival of an armored samurai in town who demands a fight with the real Flash…flash1 [Criticism] The Flash season 4: reborn from the Speed Force...

Reborn or Rebirth?

Viewers are wondering how Barry's return will be handled. It's thanks to the character of Cisco (helped by two survivors of Lian Yu in Arrow by the way…) that he will succeed. The young man has been working for some time on a project that would allow Barry to get out of the speedforce without anyone taking his place in exchange. An idea that is not without flaws especially when Iris decides to follow Barry's last advice and move forward. The team needs to focus on other, safer solutions.

Cisco can't work alone, so he needs his other half, namely Caitlin, who now works in a bar and is learning to manage his part of Killer Frost. The first attempt is the right one, even if it doesn't go as planned. And it is the return of a bearded Barry Allen that we have to do. But he's not quite the same Barry anymore since his mind seems confused. This beginning of the season does not waste time in action and explanation and we soon find The Flash and his brand new costume fight the samurai. A monster of the week? The end of the episode seems to indicate the beginning of new troubles for the team with the arrival of The Mechanic and The Thinker…

In conclusion, The Flash begins its fourth season in the Rebirth style. We would have thought that Barry's return to Central City would be longer but the time ellipse works and the writers waste no time. We will regret the departure of actor Tom Felton who was an excellent addition last season. This season, no more evil cars to fight but a new villain presented as large-scale… We are waiting to see what happens, but for now, the series of the Arrow-Verse succeed in their return, like Supergirl.
