After a month of October punctuated by the big releases of Netflix, Mindhunters and Stranger Things, the month of November has begun. The competing platforms of the American giant, Hulu and Amazon are entering the game. Here are the most anticipated series for the editorial staff of Justfocus.
Alias Grace or "Captive" (in France): The series that highlights talented artists
The expectation around the project to adapt Alias Grace was increasingly important following the consequent success with the press of The handmaid's tale (series awarded at the last Emmy). It is also a mini-series based on a book by female author Margaret Atwood. Headlining is Canadian actress Sarah Gadon, brilliant in 22.11.63 on Hulu. Sensitive and formidable depending on the scene, she shines once again in this project dealing with current themes.
What makes the strength of such a series is its ability to offer nuanced portraits that go beyond the standards offered by classic series. In a society where women's work is rarely recognized at its true value, Alias Grace is the result of work done by big female names, Sarah Polley and Mary Harron. We certainly probably hold here the series of this month of November 2017. We will come back in a detailed article about Alias Grace.
Alias Grace or Captive is available since November 3 on Netflix.
Runaways or "The Fugitives": Finally a good comic book adaptation for young adults?
Comic book fans will be rather spoiled this month with two Marvel adaptations. We particularly expect Runaways broadcast on November 27 on Hulu, the platform that rises. It will rather be placed in competition with the series developed by the CW on DC Comics heroes since it narrates the adventures of a group of teenagers on the run after discovering that their parents are villains.
A simple but effective pitch, committed young actors and special effects to match can make this project a success. You will of course have to be a fan of the genre, but Runaways will certainly have its share of surprises. One of the strengths of the series is that it doesn't focus on Manichean characters. They all have visible flaws and are in full search of identity.
The author of the comic-book published by Marvel was rewarded for Runaways. One of the attractive points of the series is the diversity of its protagonists from different ethnicities and social classes.
There is no French broadcast planned at the moment.
Future Man, a good little delirium between pop culture fans
Seth Rogen's delusions are often very popular with the public. The man whom the general public knows mainly for his acting skills has been present for some time in the world of directing. He is fully invested in pop culture and his love for this universe shines through greatly in his achievements. Just refer to his adaptation of Preacher into a TV series.
For Future Man, we dive into the ordinary daily life of a young janitor and video game player recruited to save the world. To sum up, the ultimate dream of many children fans of superheroes and space quests. The trailer unveiled is dynamic, the alchemy between the trio of actors well present, we should leave in a crazy universe well assumed. Epic moments on the program. Future Man will certainly be the entertainment of the month that will make you plunge back into your childhood dreams.
The first season will air on November 14 on HULU.

Punisher, the best Marvel series on Netflix?
Expectations are particularly high for the latest project from the Marvel-Netflix collaboration. After being one of the distinguished guests of the second season of Daredevil, the lone vigilante proudly wearing his legendary emblem, has the right to his first season. What to expect from this series?
We can be sure that violence will be omnipresent in this show that will focus on Frank Castle's revenge. After several disappointments (Iron Fist, Defenders) related to uncontrolled plots, Netflix and Marvel must raise the bar by offering a good adaptation of this urban vigilante. Within the editorial staff, comic book enthusiasts are particularly waiting for The Punisher, which will land on Netflix on November 17.
We are waiting to see in the comments what are your most anticipated series in this month of November 2017 much quieter than that of October.
