The giant Disney will recover the next Marvel series for its own streaming platform.

Bad news for Netflix: superheroes will become increasingly rare… Kevin Mayer, Disney's chief strategy officer, told the Wall Street Journal that the big-eared company decided to grab the Marvel series to attract a wider audience to their streaming platform currently under development. "It's not an anti-Netflix strategy, it's a pro-Disney strategy," he said.

But what does this mean for the series currently broadcast by Netflix? Rest assured, series currently filming or pre-production such as season 3 of Daredevil, season 2 of Jessica Jones and season 2 of Luke Cage should be on Netflix, as planned. On the other hand, when it comes to the fate of season 2 of Iron Fist or the potential season 2 of The Defenders, the future becomes more unclear.

To counter this sudden turnaround, the Netflix platform has planned to invest more than $ 8 million in original creations in 2018, a sum impressive enough to arouse our curiosity. In the meantime, the Marvel era is not yet completely over for Netflix: The Punisher is released on November 17 !
