From 12 to 28 January, the exhibition Vendôrama is held in an ephemeral bubble of a courtyard of the Monnaie de Paris. This exhibition is dedicated to the Boucheron jewelry house located on Place Vendôme for 160 years.
In a small space, but with a very careful scenography (reconstruction of a library, lush garden, etc.), 160 years of history of the famous Boucheron house are retraced through emblematic pieces. If the Vendôrama exhibition is clearly advertising and does not hide it, it is an opportunity to see a nice exhibition well done and especially magnificent pieces.
A thematic exhibition
The Vendôrama exhibition is divided into five zones: Inspiration around the famous collection "Bohemian snake" constantly reinterpreted, Collectible animals with pieces so cute and sparkling, creation with its colorful gems and sketches, manufacture where we are revealed the gestures of experienced workers, revelation where the pieces sparkle with a thousand lights, the sixth space places the visitor in the heart of Place Vendôme.
The places are animated by many mediators and mediators who are very available and actors who give life to the space.
A large place for digital technology
Another highlight of the exhibition is the wide use of digital technology. We can see "interactive book" type terminals for which it takes a certain hand, touch screens with videos on the creation of a jewel. Special mention to Wladimir, the black cat mascot of the house, reconstituted in 3D in augmented reality on some steles, which is funny but not essential (application to download for free).
Thus, this exhibition is sympathetic in its form and on its subject, but we must be well aware that it is a type of advertising, which is not necessarily a wrong, since it is a more intelligent advertisement and that it allows a wide audience to approach pieces other than in photography.
