After five long years of waiting since his last feature film The Secret, Pascal Laugier, the talented French director of Saint Angelo and Martyrs, will release his next film, entitled Ghostland, on March 14, 2018 in French cinemas.

The scenario of Ghostland is seemingly classic: following the death of her aunt, Pauline, played by Mylène Farmer (The Farmer Project, Arthur and the minimoys), moves into the house of the deceased with her two daughters Beth and Vera. One night, the small family is the victim of an extremely traumatic attack during an intrusion into their home. Many years later, Beth, played by Crystal Reed (Teen Wolf, Crush), became a horror book writer in order to exorcise her demons. In contrast, his sister Vera, played by Anastasia Phillips (Reign: the fate of a queen), has sunk into madness and still lives alongside their mother. During a visit by Beth to her family, things are far from going as planned and the past resurfaces.

The seemingly banal scenario, however, certainly contains many surprises, given the mastery of Pascal Laugier who has already offered us surprising scenarios with unexpected endings. With his previous feature films, the director has proven that his talent feeds on his experience, offering each new film more strength than his unique touch already brings. The first trailer of the film hints at a cleverly controlled suspense, obviously carried by a quality game on the part of the three main actresses, without abusive use of jumpscare. The horror of Ghostland promises to be more psychological, centered on the feeling of Beth who finds herself plunged back into the horror of her past.

With Ghostland, the long-awaited return of director Pascal Laugier promises to live up to his previous achievements!
