This Saturday, February 17, the 32nd edition of the American Society of Cinematographers Awards, or ASC Awards, took place to reward cinematographers of film and television.

For those who have never heard of it, the ASC was founded in 1918 to bring together cinematographers from the film industry and enable them to achieve international recognition within this industry through the ASC Awards. This is one of the most prized awards for cinematographers, cinematographers and special effects experts because it represents, in the field, a great sign of prestige.

While one might think that the ASC Awards are a good indicator of the winners of the Oscars for Best Cinematography, they do not bring any certainty. Take Roger Deakins, winner of the 2018 ASC Award for Best Cinematography for a Motion Picture for Blade Runner 2049. He has been nominated fifteen times and won three ASC Awards (for The Barber, The Escapees and Skyfall); however, he unfortunately did not have the chance to win an Oscar for Best Cinematography. This year, the tide could turn since he is currently the favorite of the predictions for the Oscars 2018, but his victory at the ASC Awards does not guarantee him anything for the moment.

Suspenseful, discover below the full list of nominees and winners for the 32nd edition of the American Society of Cinemotographers Awards!
