It's official! The Netflix original series, Grace and Frankie, will be back for a season 5 for our (and theirs) to enjoy. This confirmation comes shortly after the release of season 4 in January.
The streaming platform announced on February 14 that the comedy Grace and Frankie would be entitled to a fifth season in 2019. The series follows the adventures of Grace Hanson (Jane Fonda) and Frankie Bergstein (Lily Tomlin), two opposing women who will have to live together and support each other when their respective husbands (played by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) announce that they are lovers. A revelation that will upset their daily lives as well as that of their children.
Little by little, the Fonda-Tomlin duo was able to seduce the public and critics. The actresses have received several Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Grace and Frankie marks their second collaboration, indeed they had already played together in the film How to get rid of your boss (Nine to Five) released in 1980.
Netflix has also revealed that RuPaul (host of RuPaul's Drag Race) will be present as a guest-star in this new season. He will face the two women in the role of Benjamin Le Day.
The series has already welcomed many guest-stars – in addition to its already prestigious cast – such as: Rita Moreno, Sam Elliott, Joe Morton (a.k.a. Olivia Pope's father in Scandal), Peter Gallagher (a.k.a. Seth Cohen's father in Newport Beach) and Lisa Kudrow (Friends).
