The original series is a light-novel currently composed of 5 volumes released only in Japan. The saga was then adapted into manga, Sword Art Online – Aincrad finished in 2 volumes, Sword Art Online – Fairy Dance finished in 3 volumes and Sword Art Online – Progressive which currently has 6 volumes.
