Like the CinéSessions, FIFA Tour 2018 aims to democratize the concept of offline video game competition and take advantage of the cozy setting of a cinema to encourage conviviality and interactivity, while relying on the best of technology.
"It's no longer up to the players to travel to Paris, it's the competition that comes to them, accessible to all, and everywhere in France!" says Vincent Bruère, EclairGame project manager. "The competition is accessible to everyone across the France. It consists of five qualifying phases before the grand final in Paris. You don't have to be a pro to participate in the Fifa Tour 2018, the little brother of CinéSessions. Here everyone, whatever their level, has a chance to win. It's all about having a good time in a cinema. »
For Jacques Durand, Director in charge of the upmarket upgrade of Cinemas Gaumont Pathé: "This is an original and ambitious project that we are carrying out here in partnership with EclairGame. The players meet during several sessions in Lyon, Montpellier, Toulouse and Paris and compete in the cinema according to a new concept: the gaming stations are installed on the chairs in the cinema room. In this way, we equip each of the cinemas with the most suitable infrastructure to offer players the ideal conditions for a competition and a live show.
The 6 winners of each session will then be invited to participate in the grand finale in Paris at the Pathé La Villette. »
