The day before the announcement of the Official Selection, the organization of the Festival de Cannes continues to distill information. Today it is the official poster that has just been revealed.
In less than a month, the 71st Cannes Film Festival will be in full swing on a VIP Croisette where celebrities, aficionados, journalists and many film buffs will meet. This year, the edition will be placed under the sign of love. And who better to be the ambassador of French love: Bebel! Indeed, the 71st poster features a kiss between Anna Karina and Jean Paul Belmondo in Pierrot le Fou by Jean Luc Godard (1965). The model designed by Flore Maquin presents the couple, each in his car under a beautiful blue sky. Note that this photo was taken by Georges Pierre (1927-2003), an emeritus set photographer.
This 71st edition is becoming clearer day by day since we recently learned that Edouard Baer would succeed Monica Belucci as master of ceremonies. Cate Blanchett will be the president of the Competition Jury. As every year, Thierry Frémaux's team innovates and renews itself. Thus, several accreditations will be generously given to anyone aged 18 to 28 who will sell themselves best. A precious sesame that will allow the lucky ones to enjoy the last three days of the Festival (May 17, 18 and 19). A democratization of the event well thought out when we know that all the films of the Competition are rebroadcast on the last Sunday (for those who have not had time to see them all during these twelve days).
