Batman has been the spearhead of DC Comics for many years now. As of France, the current rights to comic book publications currently belong to Urban Comics. The publisher will soon publish Batman Metal which benefits from a very attractive premise: What if the greatest protector of humanity became his worst nightmare?
The work will be available on May 25, 232 pages for 19 euros.
For those who are not familiar with the DC universe, the concept of the Multiverse allows creators to imagine new uchronies. Let us cite the case of the excellent Red Son imagined by Mark Millar where the man of steel evolves under the banner of the Soviet empire. Inevitably, this will have terrible consequences for humanity. This Multiverse has been reworked many times through works that have become mythical in popular culture such as Crisis.
The latest change was made in DC Rebirth in 2017.A change that helped explain the rejuvenation of the characters and their partial amnesia. A return to the classic for old fans and new readers.
At the helm of Batman metal, a quality team that has proven itself on the title Batman, Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. The author of this saga in three volumes has been distilling with ingenuity for some time the elements that constitute the history of Batman metal. Without revealing all the details of this particular adventure, Batman will be confronted with versions of himself in this DC anti-multiverse. These Batmans have made decisions at a point in their lives that make them very different characters from the usual Gotham knight.
Urban Comics will be a partner of Hellfest this year. A partnership in line with this title.
