Four years after the release of the album Chaleur Humaine which allowed her to establish herself as one of the most appreciated singers of this decade, Christine and the Queens now begins her comeback with the single Damn, dis-moi / Girlfriend. The return was expected, the result is brilliant!

The return of the French prodigy

The France, our beautiful country that shines thanks to its history and its emblematic figures for generations… All this heritage that is our pride and that sometimes we would carry almost like a burden, as we sometimes seem to be the country-museum of the world. Few French artists have really managed to impose themselves internationally. There has of course been Edith Piaf, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Aznavour and more recently Daft Punk, but this list would only grow slightly if we added names. In recent years, the world seems to have fallen madly in love with Héloïse Letissier aka Christine and the Queens. Knighted by Madonna, on the front page of Times magazine, on the bill of the Glastonbury festival, few are the little Frenchies who have had so much coast outside our countries.

Of course, after such a success, comes the most complicated test that any musical artist knows in his career, that of the second album. Still under seal, this second opus of Christine and the Queens is highly anticipated. To wait in the rules of the art, a small appetizer as a first single has just been released. It's called Damn, tell me for its original language version and Girlfriend to continue to coax international audiences.

Singularity to the fingertips

Christine likes to play with genres, whether sexual or musical. Renamed CHRIS on social networks, with a totally androgynous look, short hair, pierced ear in a nod to the gay community and for the sound, a wave of funk and heady bass riffs, we can say that the return is successful.

Always skilful with her pen, Christine handles words with all the ambiguity we know her. Definitely feminist, she takes in this title the role of a good old macho à la Danny Zuko (Grease) and has fun blurring the tracks. Dâm-Funk, one of the most funk artists of recent years appears timidly featuring on this title in its two versions.

After this most wonderful aperitif, what will happen to this second album whose release date is still unknown? Little information has leaked, except that some duets are expected as with Perfume Genius or Tunji Ige. Because if Christine has already announced a world tour that will pass through some French cities at the end of 2018, we can't wait to hear what this album will have in store for us.
