Eloïse Lang's first solo feature film, Larguées won two awards at the Alpes d'Huez Comedy Film Festival, including the highly prized audience award. A well-deserved reward that testifies to the quality of this French comedy.

In its third week in cinemas, Larguées was held in the French Box Office ahead of other comedies such as Love Addict or Place Publique. Almost a month after its release, the film continues to make viewers laugh.

1h32 that make you happy

There are times like that, where you just want to watch a movie without headaches and have a good time. Dropped is without hesitation one of those films. But more than a succession of punchlines and funny situations, this comedy has a real story and characters with a past and a psychology.

Initially, it is possible to fear having made the wrong choice by buying his cinema ticket. But gradually, the risks of being faced with a failed comedy recede and we serenely enjoy the moment. We even laugh. A lot. We become attached and identify with the characters of Rose, Alice or even Françoise. We love little Felix and we love to find the newlywed couple who are extras throughout the film.

Above all, we are not disappointed with the last minutes. The main difficulty of a comedy is the ending, which often falls into déjà vu, the predictable or the unlikely happy ending . Here, disaster is avoided and it is with a smile on our lips that we leave the session.

A female trio that feels good

Larguées le trio gagnant Review "Dropped" by Eloïse Lang: when a French comedy is successful

A good comedy could not work without good actors and, in this case, good actresses. Director Eloïse Lang therefore called on her favorite actress Camille Cottin, who also received the Best Actress Award at the Alpe d'Huez Festival. Since her cheeky incarnation of "La Connasse", Camille Cottin never ceases to please us. Whether in Dix pour cent or here in Larguées, the French actress interprets with accuracy the roles offered to her.

At his side, Camille Chamoux does not go unnoticed either. Her character, at the beginning in the cliché of the mother, is fortunately revealed over the course of the film. The actress Miou-Miou, absent for a while from the big screen, closes this trio very well and delights an older audience.

Comedies, especially French ones, are too often viewed with a negative eye by film critics. Why not take seriously what makes you laugh? Here, we have a successful French comedy and we must recognize it. Dropped can therefore be described as a "good film".
