On the occasion of the release of his manga Beyond the Clouds, NICKE will be present during Japan Expo 2018 in Paris. Invited by Ki-oon, she will present the first volume of her work to the poetic and legendary universe. Meeting with this author with an atypical career.
Daughter of an industrial designer and niece of an illustrator, NICKE had, from her earliest childhood, a privileged contact with the world of drawing. Despite her fascination with shōjo and shōnen, she chose to study Japanese myths and traditions. During her university studies, however, she did not give up her passion and continued to blacken her sketchbooks.
After graduating, she regularly publishes publications as rich as they are varied, including the first episodes of Beyond the Clouds.
Eventually, his affection for drawing and his attachment to illustration began to take precedence. NICKE feels the need to flourish in this way. She then decided to complete her skills with design courses and embarked on the rich sphere of manga. She is now a mangaka as original as she is talented.
His first work, Beyond the Clouds, is an original creation, the first volume of which will be published on July 5. The story takes place in an exciting unusual universe: a magical and legendary world, poetic and romantic, fine and colorful. The reader will follow the story of Theo, a young worker in a repair shop in the Yellow City. Having seen his childhood dreams of adventure and discovery of fairy creatures shattered, he is confronted with the sad reality of his daily life. However, his destiny changes the day he meets a mysterious and at least different girl. It is, indeed, a winged human, a legendary species. The latter, fallen from the sky, lost her memory and one of her precious wings. Theo then embarks on a quest to unravel the mystery surrounding this creature from heaven. Then begins the hair-raising adventure of two extraordinary children: Theo, the handyman genius and Mia, the winged girl.
As two years ago with Outlaw Players, Ki-oon editions decided to honor Beyond the Clouds with a video trailer animated by the Gonzo studio. Enough to put you full of mirettes and maybe succumb to the title of the talented mangaka!
