From 1 to 4 July 2018, the whole France celebrates cinema. On this occasion, cinema screenings are only 4€. Various activities are also planned in several major cities.
Created in 1985 by the Ministry of Culture, the Fête du cinéma is an event that film lovers look forward to every year. For four days, the price of the sessions falls to 4 euros. In 2017, 3.2 million moviegoers rushed to theaters. An equal number of spectators is expected this year. From Sunday 1 July to Wednesday 4 July, you will have the opportunity to discover the latest great films at reduced prices. You can jump at the chance to go see the movies released last Wednesday, like Parvana or Love, Simon. On Wednesday 4, you will even be able to watch the first films of July. The Incredibles 2 or At the Post! are waiting for you. Many cinemas also rebroadcast old cult films. The opportunity to (re)discover these classics on the big screen.
An outdoor party
The Fête du cinéma doesn't just take place in cinemas. The Centre National du Cinéma et des images animées (CNC) organizes various events. Great treasure hunts are on the program in the cities of Bordeaux and Rennes. These free tours allow the public to go to mythical places of the cinema by gleaning clues and playing mini-games hidden in the neighborhoods of their city. In Paris, an open-air screening is planned on the Champs-Elysées. The Visitors, the great success of Jean-Marie Poiré should amuse the crowds. At the Port of Solférino (Paris, 7th), a film flea market will welcome bargain hunters on Sunday 1st. Projection equipment, posters, vinyl records or collectibles will delight lovers of the seventh art. Many activities are also planned for the whole family. Origami workshops or festive accessories will make this Sunday pass smoothly.
