A new Friday the 13th?

Legendary bogeyman since the 80s, Jason could well prepare a new horror appearance. Although remakes have already been released in the 2000s, none have been as convincing as the original work. Andrew Form, who had already tried to meet this challenge with a remake of Friday the 13th in 2009, would like to rub it again. But what more does he have to bring this time?

The producer of A Quiet Place has not said his last word! It would be a question of developing a film that would subsequently allow the production of a series of opuses. We would then see several killers with different chronologies and, among them, Jason's father. The producer also confided to We Got This Covered with great hope:

There is a trial going on and the rights are being trashed a bit. But rest assured, we are doing everything we can to participate and we believe wholeheartedly that another version, another incarnation of Friday the 13th, must be made and presented to the world and we will do everything we can to do so. Every year we look at the calendar and say, "When is Friday the 13th fall? When can we have a film ready?». We love Jason and hope we can do another one.

Although the project is a vector of great expectations on the part of the public as well as the production team, one obstacle not the least could stand in the way. As Andrew talks about in his interview, a big trial on the work is underway. Indeed, Victor Miller (screenwriter of the first Friday the 13th) as well as Sean S.Cunningham (producer) have been fighting each other for two years now. The reason? The screenwriter believes that he has not received all the royalties he deserved. It seems that when writing the script, he was not officially hired by Paramount, which would explain this.

The rights to Jason Voorhees' character are currently at stake!
