Notably seen in Scott Pilgrim in 2010, as well as in Free Fire and Kong: Skull Island, both released last year, the actress may have found another project in which she could act.

TheWrap reports that Brie Larson is in negotiations to play an as-yet-unknown role in Just mercy. Larson would then join Michael B. Jordan (Creed: the legacy of Rocky Balboa) and Jamie Foxx (Django unchained), attached to the feature film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton that he co-wrote with Andrew Lanham. The film is an adaptation of Bryan Stevenson's non-fiction book, Just mercy: a story of justice and redemption (2014).

Stevenson (played by Jordan), at the time described in the book Young Lawyer, founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a private non-profit organization. Its main interest is to defend wrongly accused persons/death row inmates. One of his first cases will be that of Walter McMillian, portrayed by Foxx, sentenced to death for a murder he claimed not to have committed and which will prove to be at the center of obscure political conspiracies. McMillian will wait 6 years on death row before being exonerated.

Michael B. Jordan produced the project alongside Gil Netter (The Odyssey of Pi, Phone game) and Asher Goldstein. We see more and more incredible true stories flourishing in cinema, and Just mercy seems to be no exception. The film is supposed to see its shoots begin next month in Atlanta, with no official release date scheduled.

In any case, let's not forget that Brie Larson is already expected at the turn in 2019 since she will be the headliner of Captain Marvel, the next film of the MCU.
