Cult film of the late 90s, College attitude, is known to all pre-millennials. Drew Barrymore plays one of his funniest roles: Josie.
Josie is a young journalist who dreams of having her first real feature article. When offered this opportunity, she is initially delighted before realizing that she will have to infiltrate a high school. Indeed, Josie is insecure and has always been part of the losers of high school. After experiencing a real nightmare on her first attempt, she intends to make her second chance in high school a real success.
A funny and entertaining film
College Attitude is a comedy film aimed at a young audience. The scenario respects all the codes of the teen movie taking place in high school. The comedic character of the film comes out through the character of Josie. Indeed, the somewhat goofy character who tries to fit in among the most popular creates hilarious situations. The script is certainly not very original but that does not prevent College attitude from being a very good film in the genre.
Tailor-made roles
Drew Barrymore certainly isn't playing his best role here. Nevertheless, she fits perfectly into the skin of the young adult with little self-confidence, and who has never known love. She manages to evolve her character during the film towards a confident woman who dares to reveal her feelings to the one she loves.
We also find David Arquette, in the role of the crazy and popular brother. He has already shared the poster with Drew Barrymore in Scream. He has a secondary role here, but his character is important in the process of gaining confidence of the main character. Michael Vartan, among the supporting roles, is also a pillar in the construction of Josie's woman in the making. He is the one she will love as a woman and no longer as a child. He perfectly embodies the charismatic teacher who makes all his students succumb.
