The six Nantes of Inuït release without complex their first album, ACTION on October 12th. A production orchestrated by Benjamin Lebeau of The Shoes for a successful first opus that we never get tired of!

If we had been skeptical at their appearance, challenged first of all by their very first single, their first Ep had reassured us: Always Kevin, it was revealed fresh and promising… We were curious to see what could happen next. And here it is, like a slap in the face. Listening to ACTION is a real big slap: a first album that is not in the lace and sends heavy without concession.

Inuit, human being

Their names are Coline, Alexis, Pablo, Pierre, Rémy and Simon and it is together that they plan to share their passion for music. They have known each other for quite some time now and since high school have been cultivating their dream of vibrating in unison with an audience. It was in 2015 that they realized it with some hastily written titles that will allow them to perform at the Transmusicales de Rennes. It was then the beginning of a great adventure that would lead them to the stages of the Francofolies de La Rochelle, the Printemps de Bourges, Rock en Seine and MaMA. They quickly caught the attention of Benjamin Lebeau of The Shoes.

Winner of the Fair in 2017, the group embarks on the exercise of the first album by locking itself several weeks in Benjamin Lebeau's Parisian studio. By dint of experimentation and surpassing, comes out of this retreat an elixir, result of a flawless musical alchemy between the 6 Nantes and their mentor.

ACTION Inuit

And… ACTION!

The album opens with Sides opening like a sunrise. A beautiful introduction with a soft crescendo and that takes in intensity. The progressive addition of bass and vibrations makes us gradually penetrate the pop atmosphere with marked electro. Already we find sounds calling our ears. A rather particular way of compounding that is familiar to us.

Departure at the quarter turn with the punchy Body Lies. Clearly electro rock, the guitar on the chorus, the effects on the voice are more hip hop in the verses, we brush the raped vocals. It's impactful and it shakes well. Again it tickles in the sounds. A shabby side that is not to displease …

Like a manifesto, then comes the title We The people. It fits perfectly in this position in the setlist.

A voice a little lazy, comes to introduce us Boy's Dead Anyway. We like this way of juggling registers. We are on an almost dub / ragga track but which keeps this electro touch ultra present and well marked.

Quieter, how do we make fire? is a small ballad supported by a bass line and some electro sound that come to ornament the melody. It is tranquil and flowing as well as sparkling and bouncing. We let ourselves be carried away.

With Move Slowly, we go back to a more electro track. Throbbing and funky at the same time, but if the background of the air is rather dark. Ultra dancing, we want to sway!

When Phase starts, we don't really know what to expect and after 10 seconds we take full ears: that's it we have grasped! This is the paw of The Shoes that we feel since the beginning in the background of the canvas … and GOD HOW GOOD IT IS! Inuït's style blends perfectly with this incisive, impulsive side of the duo! The foot!

After this good slap that wakes up, we return to voluptuousness with Pretty Puppet. Coline's voice is really sublime, her flights and this dramatization of the text, these tragic impulses that break the sweetness of this aerial song. There is a retro side, a Gainsbourg/Bardot side in this title… Or Bjork maybe… On the end of the title we are also on a folk feel. And his voices in the background that rock us.

Then comes the excellent Tomboy. A hymn to freedom

Polar Bear begins as an electro a capella song (we think of Pentatonix, the specialists of the genre). And suddenly it exposes like an aurora borealis on a super gripping pure electro track that makes you want to have fun and jump everywhere. We have no doubt that this title in concert will send an atmosphere of madness.

We change register with a more ethnic title with Asian accent, Wrong Dance, with an RnB chorus that is reminiscent of BANKS. A good little subtle and sublime trip. The composition is neat and we appreciate this title until the last note.

To conclude this first opus, Inside is completely borrowed from the paw of Inuït. We savor this rhythmic and lively piece that takes on breadth and majesty by coating itself with string sounds that give it a more than pleasant orchestrated side. It stretches more and more until it finishes with this instrumental passage… Little thrill. As a bonus, the title resumes ambient way, and the album concludes in a completely soaring way.

When you remove your headphones after this listening, you are both shaken and completely zen. It's a pleasant feeling that we didn't expect. Superb success! bravo!

Teasing had already made our mouths water and we really wanted to discover ACTION. Now that it's done, we have more than one desire: to hear it LIVE!

They will be in exceptional concert for a release party on October 15 at La Maroquinerie.
