Discover Radiant !

Radiant

First of all, just the fact that this anime is adapted from a French manga aroused our curiosity. It was not imaginable not to discover this first episode. However, we would like to point out that we have not had the pleasure of reading the print version of Radiant, so we cannot tell you if the scenario of the anime is faithful to that of the manga.

So we follow Seth, a young wizard dreaming of saving the world as well as restoring the current image that wizards have. For this, Seth is training in magic and for now, it is not won.

Indeed, Seth sows discord in the village where he trains, creating situations for the least comical! He finds himself repeatedly in comical situations. Admittedly, some can be considered "simple" with gags seen and reviewed, but it must be admitted that it still goes well.

Regarding the action scenes, for now, we have a very quick glimpse with very quick blows to one of the monsters falling from the sky, a Nemesis.

We therefore expect to discover more spectacular fights in the next episodes that will appear in the coming weeks. In addition, the basic idea of "raining" monsters is surprising and original. It only remains to be seen what this can give in the long term.

Finally, this first episode ends in action. The suspense remains on the rest of the events! Who are these mysterious sorcerers? Will they succeed in defeating the Nemesis? How will Seth evolve? These are all questions for which we look forward to knowing the answers.

A promising anime!

Radiant

On the character side, we had the pleasure of discovering Seth, the main character, Alma, his adoptive mother and some villagers. Seth is a shonen hero as we like them, go-getter, full of will, dreams, who has only one desire, to prove his worth to the rest of the world! On that side, we are not disappointed. On the other side, we have villagers who hate wizards, magic and anything close to it.

Indeed, nothing very original about this opposition, but the way this relationship will evolve can become interesting. So we'll see that in a few episodes. Finally, the appearance of new wizards also arouses our curiosity, who are they? What do they really want? What place will they hold in the series? Again, questions to which we would like to know the answers.

It is difficult to judge an anime on its first episode, however, we still hope that the character of Seth will evolve since it gives us a slightly "childish" impression, especially the scene where Seth lands on the Nemesis.

Now let's talk about the animation of this beginning of the series. The studio in charge of animation is none other than Lerche, who also directed, among others, Assassination Classroom and Re: Hamatora. We therefore find graphics very pleasant to look at, fluid and colorful. The images are not jerky, the racing scenes are well represented. It remains only to discover the animation of the fights. In addition, the animation and especially the colors used when using magic are pleasant and allow us to fully appreciate the action in progress. The colors are warm and mixed with the animation, we must admit that we wanted to do the same thing at home.

On the soundtrack side, we find the latter catchy. It allowed us to enjoy the episode and dive into the fantastic universe of it. However, it will be necessary to wait for the broadcast of several episodes to realize the quality of the music used and thus see if they are still in agreement with the animation.

The first episode of Radiant was therefore very pleasant to watch. We hope that the rest of the series will be just as captivating and that it will allow us to show the rest of the world that the French can also make good anime scenarios! And you, what did you think of this first episode? Does it meet your expectations?
