We were already talking about Commando Ninja at the beginning of the year, this future action film B with French sauce. Well, the release of the film is close but still unknown. With their €31,953 raised through their crowdfunding campaign, they had managed to double their initial request. Unfortunately, this good news leads to another much less good one. Indeed, and contrary to the previous news of the film, the idea of a cartoon scene was canceled in favor of more scenes " with meat" as one of the co-producers of the film says.

Commando Ninja is an Action/Comedy film written and directed by Benjamin Combes (director and editor at Ubisoft Montpellier) to pay tribute to the action films of the 80s, featuring Schwarzenegger, Stallone, Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Steven Seagal, Dolph Lundgren…
Commando Ninja is particularly inspired by films such as Commando, American Ninja, Rambo 2, Terminator, Home Alone, Predator, 3 Ninjas, the Mad Max quadrilogy (especially episode 2), Ninja 3: the domination, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Turbo Kid, My Science Project, Time Cop, Duke Nukem, Tank Girl, Highlander and Luc Besson films from before 2000.
And to stick even more to these feature films, Commando Ninja was made in the same conditions as the films to which it pays tribute. So everything was shot in real sets, and with real special effects on set (unlike a certain Kung Fury).
And then what?
Commando Ninja completes its final phase of production: post-production. At the beginning announced for September, the director suffered some problems and had to give up his animated sequence, not wanting to be judged as a plagiarism of the short film Kung Fury. But on the other hand he shot more live scenes allowing the film to exceed 60min and therefore to enter the feature film category.
What's next?
A comic book/prequel is still in the works. This one will narrate in more detail the Vietnam War of the hero of which we will see here and there some flashbacks in the film. A video game / sequel is also in the cards, but this one will not point the tip of its nose, if it points to, before 2019/20.
