Well known to Nancy's residents before joining Lyon this year, KIKESA is part of this new generation of artists who know perfectly how to use today's codes and media to make themselves heard and develop a real community. Zoom on a rapper we have not finished hearing about.

KIKESA, but what is it?

Carried by the rapper KIKESA and his group of friends who work with him today, the artist's music is a clever mix of rap and electro, with a visual universe as colorful as it is worked. The sentences are spicy, the rhythm bright and the look of young hippie assumed, to the delight of the eyes and ears.

Although the release of an album is not yet topical, it is for the moment on the internet that Kikesa continues to trace its path, and especially on Youtube where the artist offers content every Sunday (under the name DDH for "Hippie Sunday"). We find in particular his latest songs, vlogs, explanations on their remixes or FAQs. This regularity and creativity of content make it possible to create a real connection with his subscribers, who eagerly await the novelty of the artist every Sunday and perfectly illustrate the talent of this hyper productive rapper.

Boosted by youtubers

If his YouTube channel now has nearly 307,000 subscribers, a figure that continues to grow, the young rapper has been able to count on the help of two French YouTubers to expand his notoriety and reach new audiences. Last June, it was Mahdi Ba who spoke for the first time about KIKESA in a video "I listen to the sounds of my subscribers". Appearing at the very beginning of the video, Mahdi Ba can be seen igniting to discover Nancy, the rapper's most popular music. This enthusiasm will also be shared a month later by Seb la Frite, who will devote to his almost 4 million subscribers, a critical video of 11 minutes of the rapper. He highlights in particular the worked texts of KIKESA and the very current side of his music, which oscillates between different atmospheres each new week. And this is the strength of the artist: to be able to propose new sounds every Sunday, without falling into the ease of writing or music, by imposing his style of rap.

This ability to use YouTube codes, to maintain a real regularity and originality of content, and to create his own rap universe is reminiscent of the formula of the rapper Rilès, who was also discovered thanks to the video platform.
