On October 13th, LANY was in concert in Paris at Les Etoiles to present his new album Malibu Nights.
A highly anticipated concert
The American trio had conquered us with their first eponymous album, which included many hits including the anthem ILYSB. Thus, when they announced the release of their new album Malibu Nights carried by the singles I Don't want to Love You Anymore, Thick and Thin or Thru These Tears, we hurried to listen to it as soon as it was available.
And we were not disappointed, the band offered an album with lyrics that can only move you, all accompanied by melodies that resemble the band so much. When the band announced a European tour that would stop in Paris on October 13th at Les Etoiles, we didn't hesitate a single second to go there!
The hypnotic concert of LANY!
It was hot on this Saturday night at the Etoiles and the fans of the group were present en masse, their presence was confirmed when the lights went out and gave way to a multitude of cries recalling the madness of the fans of One Direction.
We also recognized them because they brandished many roses that they did not hesitate to throw on stage once LANY arrived on stage, a nod to the cover of their first album. The band quickly greeted the audience and hurried to perform their first title: Thick and Thin. The tone of the concert is set from the first title : everyone tonight will sing in chorus with Paul, everyone will have fun, everyone will dance. All the ingredients will be there to spend an unforgettable moment.
After being acclaimed, LANY quickly followed up with Good Girls, where Paul Klein invited his audience to jump and sing along with him. Then resonates the first notes of Bad , Bad, Bad which gave way to a dancing pit. The fans will applaud with all their strength the group who will hasten to thank and greet him. Then came the turn of Taking Me Back where the audience was encouraged to strike in rhythm. The singer will finally let slip a "thank you so much".
The singer introduced the next title: Valentine's Day, and from the first notes the crowd did not let themselves pray to shout more. After this performance, where we saw the singer at the piano, he was once again applauded endlessly and asked his audience how he was.
The concert continued with Made In Hollywood, during which Paul Klein held the note, which impressed us.Always close to his audience, he asked between two lyrics if we were okay and if we could dance, before the audience sang in chorus with him. Obviously if the public is conquered tonight, LANY is touched by the fervor of those present, to the point of letting out a "cool yeah" at the end of the title.
Before interpreting Hurts, Paul Klein informed us that they were originally from California, that they had played for the first time in Paris in this same room in 2016, that it was a pleasure to return and thanked his audience for allowing the band to return.
He will add that if we knew the next title, we would have to dance, and the fans will go so far as to throw cotillions. Paul said the audience was great tonight and thanked them again very much.
LANY continued his concert with Run and 13, tracks during which we could observe once again that the singer was very close to his audience and would never stop communicating with them. We could see, during If You See Her, that his interpretation came from the heart. This honesty earned him another gigantic acclaim.
The set continued with the tracks The Breakup, I Don't want to Love You Anymore and Hericane. Then came Super Far's turn, which fans recognized from the first notes, which elicited many shouts. Paul Klein continued his set with Pink Skies and Malibu Nights which closed the concert as their last album. The band left the stage thanking their audience, saying they loved us, and looking at us with their hands on their chests, a testament to their emotion; Then he left the stage.
Still, as soon as the band left on stage, the audience launched into a resounding encore that quickly brought LANY back on stage to perform Thru These Tears and their anthem ILYSB. During these titles Paul Klein handed the microphone to his audience, thanked his fans endlessly and was even close to them with hugs for the lucky ones in the front rows. He left the stage promising to come back next year.
As soon as their new album was released, LANY already mastered it to perfection live and to our greatest surprise, his fans already knew it like the back of their hand. Moreover, if the latter can be a brake, reminding us of the groupies of One Direction, we still advise you to go see the American trio on stage who delivered us an unforgettable performance.
