A culturally rich state in South America, Colombia has long suffered from the news stories that have marked its country for decades. Despite this, it is a country that has charm in which you can settle.

A painful past

Kidnappings, drug traffickers, guerrillas… Colombia still suffers from an image that has been its reality for years, Just look at the latest releases of films or series that refer to its history. This negative image comes from the sulphurous characters who have marked its history, the most popular of which remains Pablo Escobar. Notorious drug dealer known for leading one of the most successful drug cartels of his generation between Colombia and Miami in the 90s.

Weakened by a fierce fight against drug traffickers, the Colombian state has had to deal with an internal crisis and the actions of active rebel groups. More recently, Ingrid Betancourt comes to mind. Franco-Colombian politician who was in captivity for six years in the Amazon jungle. She was abducted by the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) in 2002. With all this, it's hard to imagine the positive. And yet there is. The storm has given way to a beautiful blue sky, this period is well and truly over!

Despite a real injury, Colombia has lost none of its charm. It is full of many riches and unknown natural beauties. Its exceptional location between the Caribbean, the Andes, the Amazon and the Pacific Ocean makes it a place rich in biodiversity and among the most beautiful in South America.

If you walk in Medellín, specifically in San Javier and Comuna 13 you will have the opportunity to discover the electric stairs installed to allow the inhabitants to get to the center of Medellín more quickly in 40 minutes! Attention before it took 2 hours by bus. If you take the direction of Antioquia you will discover authentic villages in the middle of the mountains with only the sound of birdsong.

On the other hand if you go to Cartagena de Indias it is a landscape much closer to the Caribbean that you will see. The colors, flavors and smells of the old town are beautiful. Every street corner is historic.

A trip to Colombia is a trip to the end of the world that would seduce all the curious who are not afraid to leave room for the unexpected.
