Despite the tragic news of his death, his loved ones have fulfilled his last wishes by respecting the planned dates and the ideas of the rapper. An artistic approach provided by the entourage of Nepal
As soon as his relatives announced Nepal's death, they respected their late friend's ideas about his album. Indeed, under the Instagram post announcing the death of the rapper his relatives had written wanting to "respect his will and his artistic vision" by releasing in particular the clips already made on the scheduled dates. Deceased in November 2019, his excellent album Adios Bahamas was released on streaming platforms on January 10, 2020. A date chosen by the rapper Nepal. Still considered a major album of this year, his entourage continued to perpetuate the memory of Nepal by releasing a limited series of CDs as well as vinyls. For the voice and ideas of the Parisian rapper to persist, his relatives went even further with the making of the Sundance clip.
A scenario imagined by Nepal, directed by his relatives
On September 4, the clip of the 8th track of Nepal's album Sundance was released on his channel. The clip is directed by Syrine Boulanouar, director of the film Les étoiles vagabondes as well as the majority of Alpha Wann or Sneazzy's clips. According to Nepal's wishes, his friend and rapper Nekfeu plays the leading role. Indeed, "Nepal had thought for this clip to Nekfeu, his long-time friend, as a main actor". A family shoot in which we observe the rapper from Paris Sud living the daily life of a man gas station employee. This script was totally thought by Nepal who wanted to illustrate this piece with a version of Nekfeu "who would have missed his dreams". Sundance finally depicts the daily life of an average person who leads a rather quiet life. Imaged by these shots shot in the North of the France, the result is striking and brings added value. Nepal's short but brilliant career was able to continue after his death thanks to the mobilization of his entourage. Unlike some relatives of deceased artists who take advantage of death to amass maximum profit, such as the mothers of XXX Tentacion or Lil Peep, here the approach is totally different. Indeed, the relatives of Nepal wish to perpetuate his memory by fully respecting his ideas and his universe. With the Sundance clip, we can only further validate this approach.
