Can we expect an infinity of Star Wars movies?

While Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released a few weeks ago, and has already broken all box office records around the world, Disney, the owners of the franchise, are already preparing for the release of the next episodes of the saga. In this regard, fans should have it for themselves. Expected for several years now, the return of Star Wars on our screens has not disappointed, at least for a majority of us. And although some have not necessarily hung on this episode 7, we can only praise this return to the foreground of the mythical saga created by Georges Lucas 40 years ago. Since then, Disney has bought the rights for the exploitation of films marked with the imprint "Lucasfilms", and no less than 5 films have been programmed, including the famous "The Force Awakens". The next episode, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," which happens to be actually a spin-off about the elite unit within the resistance, will be released on December 14 of this year, ahead of the release of Episode 8 in 2017. This was followed by a film about Han Solo in 2018, followed by the end of the trilogy in 2019. We therefore find ourselves in a simple modus operandi, with the release of a film on the Star Wars universe every year, until 2019. And then that's it? This is the question that many fans were asking themselves until then. To it, Bob Iger (or Robert Iger ), the CEO of Disney, responded to the BBC with the following words:

"There are 5 Star Wars movies, which are in different stages of development and production. There will be more after that. I don't know how much, or how often."

So these are words that delight. For now, a Star Wars movie scheduled every year can make us think of the exploitation that Disney Studios make of the Marvel universe. If they could continue in this direction, there is no doubt that the franchise would then take on an even greater scale. And even if the number of characters from the Star Wars universe is much smaller than from the Marvel universe, then we can remember that the universe, the scene of Star Wars, is infinite, and that the stories, therefore, are just as infinite.
