Can we imagine an Indiana Jones that would not be directed by Steven Spielberg? You have to believe that yes, since the bugger would pass the hand for the next episode.

Decidedly, Father Spielberg has not finished making the news this week. After the unusual news revealing that his daughter was getting into porn (no no it's not a joke), now the cult director withdraws from a franchise from which he seemed inseparable.

It is the American newspaper Variety that reveals this news that has enough to worry fans of the license. But still according to Variety, it seems that it was Spielberg himself who wanted to move away from directing, to remain only producer. He would like to give way to someone younger, in order to breathe a little freshness into the saga. In addition, rumors are already circulating about the name of his replacement.

Indeed, it is the director James Mangold who should recover the baby for this fifth opus. A wise choice when you know Mangold's talent as a director. Recall that this gentleman is at the origin of Walk The Line, 3h10 for Yuma, the excellent Logan or more recently Le Mans 66 (nominated for the Oscars 2020). In short, if it is Mangold who recovers Indiana Jones 5, we have something to be reassured.

Of course, the news is greeted very coldly by fans of the franchise, who do not imagine an Indiana Jones movie where Spielberg would not be behind the camera. But maybe after the disappointment of Indiana Jones 4, a little new blood would be welcome. And Mangold would be a very wise choice to resume such an iconic saga.

So we just have to wait to learn more about Indiana Jones 5, which has not finished talking about him while filming has not even begun…
