Pixar began in this first weekend of March an important turning point for this year 2020. En Avant, one of the two animated films of the American animation firm was making its grand debut. After winning the Oscar for Best Animated Film with Toy Story 4, we were highly awaiting this new production. According to early estimates, En Avant (or Onward) made $40 million at the U.S. box office. A lower result than other Pixar releases. The film is still in the lead of the first weekend of March. It pre-empted another release, The Way Back, a sports drama starring Ben Affleck. The movie My Hero Academia 2 is 10th. The Pixar feature film is probably impacted by fears related to the Coronavirus. Going to the cinema in this context is necessarily more difficult. It is to be hoped for this sector that this situation does not last. The reviews are however positive, the film can settle over time if word of mouth continues. The film's index is 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. A result a little below Pixar productions. The editorial staff of Justfocus is a fan of the film En Avant. The concept is simple but the film has several levels of reading. A real trademark for the animation studio. The synopsis of the film: In a fantasy world, two brothers will have the opportunity to live a day with a missing loved one.

An important year for Pixar

The film En Avant was also released in France, do not hesitate to give us your feedback. For the 25th anniversary of the American studio, two films are on the program this year. The movie Soul will be released 3 months after En Avant. The expectation is very high since the director has already shaped two successes of the house: Vice-Versa and Up There. The first trailer showed a strong visual identity and a promising pitch. It is undeniable that Disney – Pixar will be very well positioned to win the Oscar for Best Animated Film in 2021.
