Many had hoped for this with the lockdown measures imposed in France, due to COVID 19. But it's now official: Disney+ will not advance its release date.  It was the company with big ears itself that confirmed it to us via tweeter. Not! Disney+ will not arrive early despite repeated requests from many fans. It must be said that with the isolation devices put in place in recent days, there was reason to hope for a little new blood among the SVOD platforms. https://twitter.com/DisneyPlusFR/status/1239596169509998592 The hope of seeing Disney+ land early doesn't come out of nowhere, though.Indeed, the platform (already available in the USA) has recently decided to release Frozen 2 and Star Wars 9 early. A rather welcome measure, when we know that many children are compartmentalized at home all day … Children are also likely to be a major target of the platform in the coming days, because it will arrive before the end of confinement, which is likely to explode the number of subscriptions for the benefit of the youngest.

Disney+ : 5 worlds for 1 catalog

It's understandable why Disney+ is so enticing. The platform will indeed bring together five catalogues into one (the catalogues being called "worlds"). Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic : all in one service. And that's without counting the acquisition of 20th Century Fox by Disney, offering their catalog a plethora of films or series (like The Simpsons for example). Disney Disney+: no early release despite our friend the coronavirus... Well, the problem is that we are in France and the law on media chronology still applies. Which means that before seeing the most recent films, you will have to wait… But this will surely not prevent Disney fans from rushing to the platform, confinement or not! Disney+ will arrive on our screens on March 24, at the sweet price of € 6.99 per month. In the meantime, there is no shortage of offers (Netfllix, Amazon Prime, HBO, Canal Séries…). Happy lockdown!
