Because of the coronavirus, season 16 of Grey's Anatomy will have 21 episodes and not 25 as originally planned. According to the trailer of this final season that will be broadcast this Thursday, many surprises are to be expected… Warning, this article contains spoilers! Catch up quickly and join us;) The last episode of Grey's Anatomy will air this Thursday and as things stand, we are terrified by the fate that the writers will reserve for Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), one of the founding characters of the series. We know that the current season will end with 21 episodes (instead of the planned 25) due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. So we hope that the end will give us some answers. But what's next? The trailer for this season's Grey's Anatomy season finale hints that Richard's diagnosis may not be what it seems. In episode 19 of season 16, the entire Grey Sloan team is on deck to find out what's happening to Richard. At a general gathering, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) suggests that Richard may have Alzheimer's disease or dementia. However, Meredith Gray is convinced that Richard does not have the same disease that took the life of his mother, Ellis (Kate Burton). It also seems that Andrew Deluca (Giacomo Gianniotti), despite being laid off by Bailey (Chandra Wilson) due to his mental health has also decided to look into Richard's diagnosis. Meanwhile, there are other dramas at the Grey Sloan. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) and Atticus "Link" Lincoln (Chris Carmack) are about to have their baby while Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) is on vacation. Finally false alarm! Meanwhile, Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) supports Koracick because he has to operate on his ex-wife's son, who looks like his own deceased son. The trailer of this episode, entitled "Put on a happy face" brings hope to fans of the series to see this multitude of plots pending resolved. We can see Catherine Fox, Richard's wife at the end of her nerve because no one finds a real diagnosis. She says, "You've had weeks and you haven't found anything." Later, DeLuca is discovered rushing into Bailey's block while Richard is on the operating table. He asks her to stop and adds with the energy of despair: "You are making a huge mistake". Bailey is upset but decides to continue anyway and asks him to come out. Has DeLuca finally found out what's happening to Richard? It also seems that Amelia is finally ready to give birth as Koracick confronts Teddy about her choice to marry Owen. Many fans are now waiting for a finale that will answer all the intrigues of this season. Fortunately, showrator Krista Vernoff promises that the finale of the ABC medical drama will be "beautiful", and that everything that has not been solved in this episode will be solved in season 17. On the program: emotion, upheavals and questioning for many characters are to be expected. See you on Thursday!
