In full confinement, the rapper Dinos releases a new EP composed of 10 exclusive tracks entitled Taciturne, les Inachevées. A sequel to his latest album Taciturne, released at the end of last year, which leaves the public perplexed.
Songs teased on the networks
Since the beginning of the lockdown, Dinos has regularly posted excerpts of unreleased sounds in stories and via Instagram posts. Many wondered about the nature of these pieces… Are these new songs for an upcoming album? Songs originally planned for his latest album Taciturn ? Or just songs composed by the rapper during this particular period? Dinos finally answered the public's questions by posting on his networks the release date of his new EP Taciturne, the Unfinished. He explains that all the tracks on this EP were made at the same time as the rest of his album Taciturne. To continue the teasing until the end, Dinos confided a few hours before the release of the project via his Twitter account. He dedicated a tweet to each of the tracks of the EP explaining his feelings towards them. A personal approach highly appreciated by the public who expected only one thing: to listen to Taciturnes, the Unfinished.
Positive feedback on the tracks
Dinos is one of the rappers whose universe and pen are highly appreciated. His last album Taciturn had also been generally unanimous among listeners. So these 10 new tracks made in the same period of time as the sounds present on Taciturn have seduced a large majority of people. Many regretted that some songs had not been chosen for the classical version. Especially the songs Seka, which is a remix of Seka Seka or Puta Madre (Maquette) which could have been excellent singles for Taciturne. There is also a qualitative featuring with Marie Plassard, who already appeared on the track No Love of the classic version.
An approach that puzzles the public:
If the tracks of the new EP have seduced listeners, the approach adopted by the rapper has, meanwhile, aroused more criticism. When Dinos announced the release of new tracks potentially planned for Taciturn, many thought Taciturn, the Unfinished was a reissue. His previous album Imany had also been accompanied by a "Deluxe" version that had conquered the public. So it was thought that Dinos was repeating the same process when releasing the "Deluxe" version of Taciturn. However, after the release of the album, the rapper clarified that it was only a bonus EP and not a reissue. In view of the mixed reaction of the public regarding the format, Dinos has announced that he is working on a reissue of Taciturn which will be entitled Taciturne+. Again, this announcement provoked strong reactions. Many do not understand exactly the rapper's approach to release this EP, if a reissue is planned. This is also paradoxical with the name of the album Taciturn which designates a person who speaks little, who is rather silent. Especially since Dinos is one of the artists strongly attached to the classic album format, where the coherence of album is thought from the first to the last title. Thus the rapper received some criticism regarding the fact that he wanted to capitalize as much as possible on Taciturne. Criticism was also directed at the fact that his approach totally distorted the initial project. It only remains for us to see what Taciturn + will give which will not be "a mouth reissue but a successful project" to use the words of Dinos. In the meantime, Dinos remains more productive than ever in this period of confinement since he published on April 15 the clip Arob@se from his initial album.
