While all fans of the series are eagerly awaiting season 5, the filming of season 6 seems to be compromised. Negotiations for a pay raise for Tom Ellis (who plays Lucifer) reportedly failed. TV Line reports that Lucifer Season 6 may not move forward due to a salary dispute between star Tom Ellis and Warner Bros. studio. The actor is still under contract for a sixth season, but has reportedly tried to ask for a pay raise. According to a TV Line source, these discussions led nowhere:
"Everyone wants Tom to be happy. But there is a limit, and it is reached. »
It is not uncommon for money issues to threaten the future of a series. Especially when it comes to the contract of a main character. Unfortunately, this particular contract seriously threatens Lucifer's future. Lucifer was cancelled in 2018 after four seasons at Fox. Fans then embarked on an ambitious online #SaveLucifer campaign, which eventually led Netflix to take over the show for the fifth season. Lucifer season 5 was supposed to be the last before rumors about the possibility of a season 6 began to surface. Lucifer season 5 (which could be the show's final season or the penultimate season, depending on how things go) doesn't have a release date yet. After initially ordering 10 episodes, Netflix increased the total to 16 episodes. Recall that a season 6 of the series has never even been officially confirmed.
