According to Variety, Israeli actress Gal Gadot will play Hedy Lamarr in a miniseries set to be released on Apple TV.
Hedy Lamarr: a Hollywood star
The miniseries will follow the life of inventor and movie star Hedy Lamarr. She became famous in Hollywood in the 1930s. The Austrian, naturalized American, is one of the few women of the time to have combined science and cinema in her life. She finds herself at only 17 years old at the forefront of the stage. A few years later, she will be the center of controversy with the film Extase (1933) since she appears naked on many stages. She is described by the theater director Max Reinhardt who declares to the press that she is the most beautiful woman in the world. 
After leaving her country just before World War II, she continued her film career in the United States. However, she did not give up her love for science and made history. She imagines with the pianist and inventor George Antheil, a way to encode transmissions. This technology will make it possible to create WI-FI and will even help the development of mobile telephony. His story is perfectly summarized in episode 24 of the series Culottées.

The eight-episode miniseries was in development for two years on Showtime. She will have as main actress Gal Gadot who will interpret the role of Hedy Lamarr.
Yet it is Apple TV that will broadcast it. A decision stemming from a disagreement on the seriesThe Affair, between the writer and executive producer Sarah Treem and Showtime. Ruth Wilson left the show accusing Treem of creating a hostile work environment.
The series is produced by Warren Littlefield (The Handmaid's Tale) and Katie Robbins (The Affair). Gal Gadot will be the lead actress of the series, she will also produce the show with her husband Yaron Varsano. Hedy Lamarr's children, Anthony Loder and Denise Deluca will be consultants on the series. The official synopsis describes the series as follows:
"The series will follow the incredible story of the life of a glamorous Hollywood girl, spanning 30 years from her daring flight from Vienna before the war to her meteoric rise during Hollywood's golden age to her fall and disgrace at the dawn of the Cold War. An epic story of an immigrant who is both ahead of her time and a victim of it. "
